In 2004, the city of Techirghiol had a total of 7,150 inhabitants.

The population of Techirghiol comprises Romanians, Turks, Aromanians, Tatars and Romanis who cohabit in tolerance and harmony.

The Turk population of Romania, according to the last census, of March 2002, is about 33,000 people; About 11,000 Turks live in Constanța, 4,000 in Medgidia, and in the sea-coast towns: Mangalia (2,000), Eforie Nord (200), Techirghiol (400).

There are 24,137 Tatars living in Romania, most of them living in the Dobrogea counties of Constanța and Tulcea. Techirghiol is one of the most important localities with Tatar population.
