In 2010, Techirghiol became a member of the European Historical Thermal Town Association. EHTTA was established with a view to create a European network of spas, to increase the attractiveness of the regions where these towns are located, to get involved in financing projects together with other towns – members of the association.
In order to develop common projects for supporting the touristic attractiveness and media coverage, Techirghiol is twin town with the following municipalities:
– Tekirdag / Turkey 
– Rotterdam / Netherlands 
At national level, Techirghiol is active in the National Association of Romanian Touristic Resorts, which was established in 2002.
At international level, one can mention Techirghiol as twin town with Acqui Terme (Italia), with a view to develop the collaboration between communities, public organizations, and also to prepare common events in the areas of: culture, education, tourism, sport, social activities, economy.
The City Hall of Techirghiol is also ready to apply for other projects, for the development of a network of spa resorts, rich in thermal tradition and heritage, allowing them to capitalize on their history and to protect their thermal, cultural and artistic heritage. The projects intend to promote the thermal towns as cultural centers at European level.
